Day wise tour itinerary

Day 01
Day 01 : : Chennai

After arriving at the Chennai railway station/airport, you will be greeted by our representative who will accompany you to the hotel. He will assist you in the check-in and the will hand-over the welcome kit along with the itinerary of the tour. Chennai was previously known as Madras and is the wealthiest and the busiest seaport in southern India. Madras is identified closely with the European commerce. You will visit the George Town, Fort, St George, Anna Salai, Poonamallee high road, Triplicane, Chepauk, and the San Thomas Church. In the evening, you will go to the Marina beach and nearby areas. You will then stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 02
Day 02 : : Chennai – Mahabalipuram

After the breakfast, you will be driven to Mahabalipuram, which is a famous historical place and beach resort in South India. It was previously known as Mamallapuram, which found its name from King Mamalla (650-68), a King of Kanchipuram. The free standing and rock cut monuments and the associated sculptures in Mamallapuram are carved out of granite. They represent the first instances of Hindu art and architecture in the Tamil region. You will reach Mahabalipuram and check-in at the resort. In the afternoon, a tour of local Mahabalipuram will take you to the PandavaRaths, Monolithic structures, Shore Temple, Arjuna’s Penance, Varaha Cave, Krishna Mandapam, etc. This will be followed by an overnight stay at the resort.

Day 03
Day 03 : : Mahabalipuram - Pondicherry

Breakfast will be followed by a visit to Pondicherry. It is now known as Puducherry, 162kms far from Chennai. It was a location for the French Settlement in pre-independence times. You will arrive and check-in at the resort. The rest of the day is available free for your leisure and shopping. You will stay overnight at the resort. 

Day 04
Day 04 : : Pondicherry

In the morning, you will go for a tour of local Pondicherry, where you will be visiting the main attraction of the place, the Sri Aurobindo Ashram. Sri Aurobindo and mother Samadhis are in the main building of the ashram and are open to the public morning 8.00 AM to 5.00 PM. You will go to the Pondicherry beach later, along with the museum, Botanical garden, French institute, etc. You will return and spend the night at the hotel.

Day 05
Day 05 : :Pondicherry – Thanjavur

A drive after the breakfast will take you to Thanjavur. It is situated in the Cauvery delta. Thanjavur is known as the rice bowl of Tamil Nadu. You will check-in at the hotel after arriving and proceed for a local tour in the afternoon. You will visit the Brihadeeswarar Temple, which is a marvel of the Dravidian architecture and art. It demands for a lot of days to be discovered inch by inch. Even then you would be left dissatisfied and it is hence known as the Big Temple. You will then see the RajarajaChola Art Gallery, Royal Museum, The Palace, SaraswathiMahal Library, etc. You will return to the hotel in the evening and stay overnight. 

Day 06
Day 06 : : Thanjavur – Trichy

Breakfast will be followed by a drive to Trichy. It was previous known as Tiruchirappalli and got its name because of the association of Jains with this place. You will check-in the hotel after arrival and then go for a local tour in the after. You will visit the Thiruvanaikaval, Samayapuram, Rock Fort, Srirangam, etc. In the evening, you will return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 07
Day 07 : : Trichy – Madurai

You will be driven to Madurai after the breakfast and will check-in the hotel. It is also generally known as “Nanmadakkoodal” in the Tamil literature. Madurai is an ancient city and is older than 4000 years. In the afternoon, you will go for a local tour where you will be visiting the Temple Museum, Madurai Meenakshi Temple, OonjalMandapam, Gandhi museum, ThirumalaiNayakkarmahal, etc. You will stay overnight at the hotel. 

Day 08
Day 08 : : Madurai – Rameswaram

After breakfast, you will drive to Rameswaram and check-in at the hotel. Rameswaram is a holy island in the Ramanathapuram district. It is also known as the Land of Sethupathi, who was responsible for sending Swami Vivekananda to Chicago for the Parliament of Religions. In the afternoon, you will visit Rameswaram, Andaman, Adam’s Bridge, etc. You will stay overnight at the hotel.

Day 09
Day 09 : : Rameswaram– Kanyakumari

You will have your breakfast and then drive to Kanyakumari. You will check-in at the hotel there. Kanyakumari is the southernmost tip of India. It is the land’s end where the Arabian Sea, Indian Ocean, and the Bay of Bengal meet. If you are lucky to be there on a full moon day, you can see the sunset and the moonrise in the same hour. In the afternoon, you will visit the Kanyakumari Amman Temple. You will also see Vivekananda Memorial which has been built over the Vivekananda Rock. It is said that Swami Vivekananda was in the habit of swimming to the rock and meditating there for hours while he was in Kanyakumari. You will also visit the government museum. In the evening, you will see the sunset and return to the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 10
Day 10 : : Kanyakumari- Trivandrum

You will see the sunrise in the early morning. It is actually one of the very few spots in the world which shows the sunset and the sunrise in the same area. You will then have your breakfast, after which you will check-out and be transferred to the Kanyakumari Railway Station or the Trivandrum airport for your return journey home.
